Contents

Thank you for thinking of contributing to the Joomla! 1.6 User Manual project

There are two kinds of contributions which we would like to receive.

  • Reviewers
  • Writers

Reviewers

  • Every page has a status flag. This page carries a 'Review Needed' flag. Please consider the contents of the page in the light of its title and, if you feel it appropriate, add your comments to the 'discussion' section of the wiki page.
  • If the page is both complete and understandable please include the word ACCEPTABLE on the talk page. Once there are three of those the page becomes Trustworthy.
  • Please remember to sign your comments. This is done with 4 tildes ~~~~ .
  • The User Manual is also being discussed in Amy Stephen's Ning here.

Contributors

  • The status of each page is indicated by a flag at the top of the page.
  • This effect is achieved by including {{ManualHeader|ReviewNeeded}} at the head of the page.
  • There are four possible values for the parameter of ManualHeader
    • Placeholder - a blank page used while constructing the hierarchy.
    • Under Construction - a page which is in need of contributions
    • Review Needed - requesting others to comment on our work. Is it understandable? Is it complete?
    • Trusted - a page which has been judged ACCEPTABLE by three of our peers.
  • This wiki template (or subroutine) also inserts the page title, links Home and Up, a list of the sub pages and arranges for a TOC below all this.
  • You enter your contribution below this.
  • Precisely what ManualHeader does is open for discussion but this is a starter to show how WIKI is QUICKY  :-)
  • Please read here before contributing. It is an attempt to explain how I think the manual will work for its readers. But consensus may change that view :-)
  • Write either
    • Simple text into the wiki
    • Using the markup language if you are familiar with it
    • In a word processor or text file form and send it to Amy Stephen's Ning here and I will add it to the wiki.

Once more a big thank you to everyone who contributes. You will appear in the contributors list of the manual. Nothing like bribery and corruption, is there?
