Resolving issues

Jump to: navigation, search

When the Reporting issues procedure has been followed, the next step is to actually resolve the issues. There is a difference in the process flow between a Maintenance Release, Major Release and Minor Release. Within a Maintenance Release the main goals is increasing stability and with a Major Release or Minor Release the main goals is adding functionality.

The process presented here is in place for every release, but the process of patch handling is specific for a Maintenance Release and during the Stable Phase within the Development Cycle. Let's start with the process flow:

This process flow is pretty straight forward. It is important to realize that this process only is followed when a release is going into a stable phase. When a major/minor release has not reached the Release Candidate stage the commit process can be done more directly, a developer can then commit directly to the code base.
