Overview of ACL in Versions  Joomla 3.0

This section outlines the major ACL changes between versions 2.5 and 3.0 series (which will include future releases until 3.5). The table below summarizes the major changes from version 2.5.


Version 2.5 Current STS Version 3.3
Groups Unlimited user-defined Groups
Users & Groups A User can be assigned to multiple groups
Access Levels Unlimited user-defined Access Levels
Access Levels & Groups Groups are assigned to Access Levels.
Any combination of Groups can be assigned to any Access Level.
