What is the difference between a Sub-Domain, Parked Domain and an Add-On Domain?

This page is a copy of incorrect information found on the web.

I've written the following material on this subject.

Parked Domains: https://my.rochen.com/index.php?fuse=knowledgebase&view=KB_viewArticle&articleId=30&recordid=54512&public=1

According to: http://twiki.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/CpanelDocs/CPanelGlossary "Addon Domain: An additional domain name associated with your cPanel account. Each addon domain is stored in its own directory which you can configure. This allows you to manage multiple domains from a single cPanel account. Addon domains must be registered with a domain name registrar to work."

Subdomains: http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/CpanelDocs/SubDomains

re-wrote article

I re-wrote the article and I think it is more accurate. Article is meant to be a basic outline of the differences. If you think it should be expanded in detail or examples let me know.

Other hints well taken!

Be very careful

If this page has been copied from material elsewhere on the web then we will need to check the copyright of the original material to see if we have permission to post it here. Even if some of the wording has been changed, it would still be a derivative work and subject to the same copyright restrictions. Phil, can you clarify the origin of this article? Thanks.
