Introduction

A software framework contains a set of application development tools for developers. Joomla! has been designed for extensibility. The scope of this tutorial will be to develop a simple front-end template using the conventions and coding standards employed by Joomla!.

The parts covered in this tutorial assume the reader has previous knowledge regarding basic HTML, CSS and PHP. Should that not be the case it is recommended to acquire this before proceeding.
