Would it be appropriate to provide a much greater level of detail in the help screens?
Or at least describe one or two of the features for the particular screen?

Good question. I think that most of the 1.5 screens already have a short description section at the top of the page. I think that's good, but we should also look at whether each description is actually "delivering value". In other words, is it actually helping the user understand what the screen if for? The current global configuration screen is a good example of where the description should probably be extended and improved. I also wonder if having the Quick Tips at the very bottom of the page is the best place for that sort of information.
