Joomla! Documentation Press Releases

20150814 - CMS Garden[edit]

The official documentation for Joomla! is available at docs.joomla.org. Commonly referred to as JDocs, the Joomla! Community is continuously updating and translating its documentation.

The Joomla! Documentation provides information for all users at any level. This includes beginners to new administrators, intermediate to advanced users and all levels of knowledge for Joomla! developers.

For the past few years, Joomla's documentation has been reorganised with a new appearance. It is now mobile responsive and reads just as well on your phone or tablet as it does on a desktop. Besides its new look, Joomla's documentation is now localised in many different languages. There are approximately 28 languages listed for translation, with 17 being actively translated.

Keeping Joomla's documentation up-to-date and translated is just like developing Joomla's code, never done, bugs to fix and always improving. If you would like to volunteer to help, the team would be glad to welcome you. Just reach out to JDocs on Twitter (@joomladocs) if you need guidance.

After every release, the official documentation is reviewed, adapted, divided or archived by its major release version. This way supported versions have the proper documentation and unsupported versions are still available to reference.

In addition to the official Joomla! Documentation, there are numerous videos, tutorials and blog posts, most of them are available free of charge on the web. Also, there are numerous books and magazine articles about using, administering and developing with Joomla.
