Description[edit]

The Post-installation Messages component allows you to review actionable messages after installation or update of the Joomla CMS or any extension which optionally uses it.

How to Access[edit]

  • Select Components  Post-installation Messages from the dropdown menu of the Administrator Panel

  • Showing messages for. Joomla CMS is the default option.

Messages[edit]

There are a number of message panels, each with a Hide this message button to select when you no longer wish to see a message. A hidden message can be restored using the Toolbar.

The typical message structure is as follows:

  • Summary. A short summary of the message.
  • Since version. Displays the version of the CMS or extension in which this message is first applicable.
  • Detailed message. A detailed message describing the change.
  • Action button. Messages are optionally able to have actionable items associated with them. When present, an action button will allow you to perform an action associated with the message.
  • Hide this message button. Messages can be hidden after review. By clicking this button, the message is no longer displayed in the component.

  • Release News. A list of Stable and Beta releases.

At the top left you will see the toolbar.

The functions are:

  • Hide All Messages. Select this button to hide the messages in the left panel. The messages are replaced by a box that says 'You have read all the messages' and a 'Reset Messages' button that restores the unread messages, including the individually hidden messages.
  • Help. Opens this help screen.
  • Options. Opens the Options window where settings such as default parameters can be edited.
