I haven't read it in detail, but it looks good.  I think some of the content could usefully be added to the help screens (eg. [[Help17:Site Global Configuration]] for {{JVer|1.7}}).  Reference 1 is to a forum post that refers to a feature request.  Any relevant information from the forum post should be included in the page and the link removed.  Reference 3 is to an external site that should be removed as linking to external sites (except a small number of approved sites) is not permitted (see [[JDOC:Wiki policy]])

I have some time on my hands so I hope no one will mind if pick up this article and move it on a bit. Global Config. is something that is central to so many areas of web site performance (security, speed, SEO, etc.) so I hope it proves useful to others as well as giving myself the opportunity to learn more about its mysteries.
