Joomla este un Sistem de Management al Continutului (CMS), care va ofera posibilitatea de a construi site-uri web si aplicatii online complexe. Mai multe aspecte, incluzand usurinta in folosire si extensibilitatea, au facut ca Joomla sa fie cel mai popular software pentru crearea si administrarea de pagini web si aplicatii online. Dar cel mai important, Joomla este open source si este disponibila pentru toti. Avantajele de a folosi Joomla includ:

- Administrare simpla
- Securitate si stabilitate
- Extensii gratuite si comerciale
- O multime de template-uri pentru a schimba foarte usor aspectul site-ului
