Hi I believe the best way to link an Article to another article on the same Joomla website should be just giving it Article ID through the index.php like this:
/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=50&Itemid=61
You can always can get to know the Article ID

If you turn on Search Engine Friendly URLs (SEF) in the global settings, you can use the alias names in your links.
Note: test this in your staging/development environment first in case your installation doesn't work well with SEF.
