Hi Tony. I think Chris is the one to discuss this with. He is much more knowledgeable about how the wiki is or should be organized than I am. One thing that might be helpful with working with images. I am using a program called Commonist that allows you to upload a batch of images files in one operation. This saves a lot of time when working with large numbers of screenshot files. Good luck. Thank you Mark.  I am already talking to Chris about how to put things together.  Where I thought you might help was with the image library.  Would that be a reasonable ask? Tony Davis 08:27, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

I would ask permission to move pages from the template namespace which are actually in course descriptions and pages that have links pointing to them.

I have as main objective the wiki organization and redesign the landing pages.

Documenting Joomla! 1.6[edit]

Hi Dexter My name is Tony Davis known here as Addacumen. I am attempting to organise the documentation of 1.6 and I observe that you seem to be a heavy contributor of images to the Documentation site.

The discussion about this can be seen on Amy's Ning http://www.alltogetherasawhole.org/ under User Manual. My idea is to use the wiki templates to replicate material consistently through the new Manual. The wiki is confusing in that it uses 'template' both in the sense of managing the look and feel (like Joomla! templates) and in the sense of factoids - like this one

There is quite a lot of calling of calling of calling of things and it may be possible to reduce this but I shall discuss that with Chris Davenport. The atoms of this process are called Chunks and one may be seen here.

It occurs to me that images could be managed in this way too. They are referred to in a factoid which is given a name and description and can be referred to from a resource index. For example Images could be the equivalent of Toolbaricon and Control_panel could be the equivalent of Add_New_Article. Then anyone building a documentation page will simply refer to Template:Image (you need to look at the coding to see what this is really) to insert the appropriate image. If some future change occurs in the appearance of the Control Panel all that is required is to modify the Chunk and all else follows.

What do you think?

Deploying an Update Server change to Joomla3.0[edit]

Hi Mark,

I do not know whom should I write because of a change to the article. In the "Server types Collection" I have noticed a mistake in Joomla 3.0.

In the article it says:

<extensionset name="example.com" description="XXX">
  <extension name="com_event" element="com_event" type="component" version="0.6.1.263" detailsurl="http://example.com/com_event-update.xml" />
</extensionset>

But in my component it did not work.

It only works when I added client="Administrator" to the file i.e.

<extensionset name="example.com" description="XXX">
  <extension name="com_event" element="com_event" type="component" version="0.6.1.263" detailsurl="http://example.com/com_event-update.xml" client="Administrator" />
</extensionset>

Were you able to reproduce the problem?
