Los alias son pequeñas piezas de texto que representan el título de ciertos elementos (elementos de Menú, Artículos y Categorías) en un formato comprensible para la máquina. Este formato permite sólo letras minúsculas y guiones (-).

Los alias son utilizados por Joomla para hacer Search Engine Friendly URLs. Existen limitaciones técnicas a los tipos de caracteres que se pueden incluir en las Urls, así que Joomla evita problemas con los caracteres no válidos permitiéndole especificar un alias.

You can fill in an alias yourself. If you leave the alias field empty, Joomla will automatically create an alias from the Title field of an item when it is saved. This means that if you edit the title of an item, but you leave the old alias in its field, the alias (and the URL that is created from it) will not change. Empty the alias field if you want generate a new alias.
