This document provides detailed instructions only for users who updated to 3.1.2. Please check the version number in your installation before following these instructions.
- The version is visible on the bottom right of your admin view or can be found by going to the System → System Information menu.
- Before performing an upgrade please ensure that you have an up to date and tested backup of your web site.
- Log in to the /administrator of your web site using your username and password. This must be for a Super User account, that is, one with permission to do updates. If you are the main administrator for the site you are probably a Super User.
- Go to the Components menu and select ‘Joomla Update’
- Click Install the Update.
- You will get a success message saying “Your site has been successfully updated. Your Joomla version is now 3.1.3.”
- Reload your page to display the update screen again. If the update screen does not display you will need to clear your browser cache.
- Click the “Purge Cache”' button.
- You will get an update notification that version 3.1.4 is available.
- Click Install the Update.
- You will get a success message saying “Your site has been successfully updated. Your Joomla version is now 3.1.4.”
- As a final check, visit the database screen by clicking Extensions → Extensions and then Database on the side menu It should look like the image below.
- At this point your site is up to date.
